How much can I expect to save on Emerald talent vs. US rates?

For most positions, you can expect to save 70-80% off US salaries. For example, a full-time graphic designer typically costs $1000/month or less!

Are there any positions you can’t or don’t hire for?

We typically only provide top talent for full-time positions. We do not offer talent for project-based or part-time work at this time.

How do I pay my new Emerald team member? Do they accept Paypal, etc.?

Most of our talent at Emerald is based in the beautiful country of Colombia (less than 6 hour non-stop flight from Dallas!). Your Colombia talent will accept payment via PayPal or Deel (we have a direct relationship with Deel, whom we can connect you directly with)

What happens if my team member doesn’t work out? Do you have any replacement guarantees?

Yes! We have a lifetime guaranteed replacement for all partners who join our Emerald Partner Plan at $99/month. With your Partner Plan, you will receive not only guaranteed lifetime replacement but also priority access to vetted top new talent that enter our marketplace.

What holidays do Colombian team members expect to have off each year?

We recommend providing your Colombian team member the following paid holidays:

  • New Year's Day - January 1st

  • Holy Thursday - Date varies (during Holy Week)

  • Good Friday - Date varies (during Holy Week)

  • Labor Day - May 1st

  • Independence Day - July 20th

  • Battle of Boyacá - August 7th

  • Assumption of the Virgin Mary - Celebrated the Monday following August 15th

  • Columbus Day - Celebrated the Monday following October 12th

  • Christmas Day - December 25th​

Do I need to provide any insurance or benefits as part of my offer to be a competitive employer?

We recommend providing reimbursements for health insurance and Colombian pension as part of your offer to your Emerald team member. An appropriate amount would be in the range of $75 - $175 per month.

How does Emerald make money?

We simply collect a one-time fee at the time of your hire. This allows you to make a direct offer to the candidate and pay rates that are general far lower than you would pay a traditional staffing agency. 

 

We also offer an optional Guaranteed Lifetime Replacement for $99/month, where we will replace your team member for any reason within 30 days of departure and for the same position. You will learn more about this during the recruitment process.

Are you similar to a staffing agency where I have to pay an inflated rate for talent?

NO, absolutely not! Staffing agencies are incentivized to pay their talent the lowest wage and charge you the highest wage, thus making as large a profit for themselves as possible. Emerald only charges a one-time fee, allowing you access to a direct relationship with your team member and avoiding the large ongoing agency markup.

Can Emerald help me facilitate payroll and benefits administration?

Yes, but we’re not quite there. Soon, we will be launching a monthly subscription where we handle all your payroll and benefit needs. Stay tuned!
